In recent months, Dave Grohl, the former drummer of Nirvana, and current leader of the Foo Fighters, has been in the news a lot.
Summer Jobs
In June, during a concert in Gothenburg, he broke his leg, got a cast, and returned to the stage to finish the concert. In July, he responded positively to the invitation of a thousand Italian fans covering Learn To Fly to bring the band to their small town of Cesena. In August, he disrupted a homophobic protest in Kansas City.
Flawless Career
Respected for his career and artistic choices, Dave Grohl enjoys a well-deserved capital of sympathy. In addition to having written rock history with Nirvana and Foo Fighters, he has a string of quality "side projects" such as Queens Of The Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures. He managed to recover from Kurt Cobain's suicide and the media frenzy that followed, and to release albums combining artistic quality and public success. His collaborations include Cat Power, Killing Joke, Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, Garbage... His shelves are overflowing with awards and he has a pro model guitar. In short, a flawless career.

Logo Head
Dave Grohl also has such an identifiable look that it has become a logo, and he's the guy who single-handedly kept the lumberjack shirt industry afloat after the explosion of Nirvana. He has always stayed away from hard drugs, he has Barack Obama's number, and was the last guest on David Letterman's final Late Show. Dave Grohl is the quintessential nice guy.
Ugly Glasses
So, we're telling you this because we love you, Dave: don't overdo it because Bono Syndrome is lurking. You'll end up with ugly glasses and inspiration as limp as CD sales curves. Your albums will be so bad that Apple will put them directly on its iPhones and buyers will demand their immediate removal. You'll become the richest star in the world by investing in the next Facebook and you'll disown the first 30 years of your life, and with them the fans you made dream and who brought you to the top. And that's the last thing we want for a good guy like you.

Update 11/24: as you can read here, the Foo Fighters released a mini-album dedicated to the victims of the Paris attacks, and that's what's called Lalanne syndrome.
